Passport & visa requirements

The information listed here was accurate at the time this was written. However, changes may have occurred since this was created. It is your sole responsibility to ensure you are aware of the requirements for your country.

  • You must have a valid passport (and visa for citizens of certain countries; US citizens do not require a visa) for travel to Mexico.

  • Acquiring a passport and visa can take some time, so begin now if you do not have a current passport (or visa for certain citizens), or if your passport or visa is expiring soon. Amadeus will cover passport and visa costs, but not any costs to expedite processing.

  • If you are a citizen of Andorra, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, The United States of America, Uruguay or Venezuela, you do not need a visa to enter Mexico, although you must present a valid passport.

  • If you are a citizen of any other country, you need to go to the Mexican consulate in your country to ask about the requirements and take the necessary steps to get your visa. The requirements differ from country to country.

  • More information is available by visiting the Web site of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Mexico. Please be sure to review before booking travel.
